{"id":303,"date":"2016-06-11T15:05:58","date_gmt":"2016-06-11T14:05:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/104.198.79.120\/?p=303"},"modified":"2016-06-11T16:56:10","modified_gmt":"2016-06-11T15:56:10","slug":"shared-folder-disappeared-in-veertu-windows-7-fix","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wp.gaborhargitai.hu\/shared-folder-disappeared-in-veertu-windows-7-fix\/","title":{"rendered":"Shared Folder disappeared in Veertu &#8211; Windows 7 Fix"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After a recent upgrade to the <a href=\"https:\/\/veertu.com\" target=\"_blank\">Veertu virtualization software<\/a>, many users &#8211; including myself &#8211; have been surprised to find out that the Shared Folder with the Mac OS X host has all but disappeared into oblivion, re-installing the Guest Additions did not at all resolve the issue.<\/p>\n<p>Browsing thru Veertu&#8217;s Knowledge Base I came across <a href=\"https:\/\/veertu.com\/knowledgebase\/shared-folder-windows-7-mounted-drive\/\" target=\"_blank\">an article<\/a> that described this particular problem and relates it to having the newer share folder driver signing done with SHA256 whereas Windows 7 only supports SHA128 out of the box (or at least, without much updating whatsoever).<\/p>\n<p>Fixing it (thus getting back the Shared Folders) is rather easy:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Fetch and install the respective updates from Microsoft:\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/download\/details.aspx?id=46078\" target=\"_blank\">Windows 7 x86 \/ 32-bit SHA256 driver signing update<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/download\/details.aspx?id=46148\" target=\"_blank\">Windows 7 x64 \/ 64-bit SHA256 driver signing update<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Reinstall the Guest Additions in your Virtual Machine<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After a recent upgrade to the Veertu virtualization software, many users &#8211; including myself &#8211; have been surprised to find out that the Shared Folder with the Mac OS X host has all but disappeared into oblivion, re-installing the Guest Additions did not at all resolve the issue.
